You Said It: Is our problematic PM 'handsy'?

PM TOO TOUCHY-FEELY?

To quickly summarize, once “handsy,” always “handsy.” I believe the female reporter from B.C. and, guess what, I also believe the 2015 photo!

Sunny and “handsy” ways just crashed and burned! Time to move away from this buffoon, we have enough of one of them south of the border and perhaps another one in the making in Mexico! Should be fun for the next one-and-a-half years or so.

(Oh, the news in the weeks and months ahead will definitely not be boring. Of that much, we are certain.)

NOTHING TO PROVE

Re: Feminist PM has explaining to do (Mark Bonokoski, June 28).

What does Justin Trudeau need to explain to you or anyone? That hearsay is truth? That obscure allegations are always true? There’s not a shred of hard or even soft evidence but plenty of animosity for our current PM — from the conservative-leaning Postmedia, natch. No wonder the alleged victim of young Justin is “out of the game.” It didn’t happen.

JOEL DUNCAN

(OK, guess you don’t believe her, which certainly goes against the grain in 2018. Good luck with that point of view.)

JUST KILL PHOENIX

The latest report released by the feds suggests that the Phoenix payroll system will require another five years and perhaps another $2.5 billion dollars to repair. I’m a retired federal labour employee who thankfully got out before the Phoenix system was introduced. I don’t know what was wrong with the old system(s). Never missed a paycheque during my 28 years of service. Paying employees what they are entitled to and on time is a fundamental obligation that is entrenched in labour laws throughout the various jurisdictions in this country. I think one can reasonably conclude by now that the Phoenix system cannot be fixed because it never actually worked in the first place.

SOCCER STARS

There is a simple, non-subjective solution to the increasing prevalence of faking injuries and taking dives in soccer. Any player who falls to the ground and stays down more than 10 seconds receives an automatic two-minute recovery benefit whereby he is removed from play to rest and recover for that time and play carries on without him. To avoid malingering into that two-minute period, it would begin when he finally is removed from the playing surface. Cheaper than getting the Academy Awards to add a special award for Best Dive in International Competition named the Neymar Trophy!

TRUDEAU’S LATEST MESS

Obviously, the “grope-a-dope” technique may very well backfire on the sock puppet PM. He preached the rules. He stated that they apply to him. Now, let’s see if he has any integrity at all and steps down.

TIM BAKOS

(If he is guilty of what is alleged to have happened 18 years ago, should he step down? What is an appropriate sanction, theoretically?)

MORE THAN HOT AIR

Re: CAMERON: Ford-Trudeau showdown — Cut pump prices or send cheques to families, Mark Cameron July 6, 2018

Cheers to Mr. Cameron for this well researched, factual article highlighting the hearty meat on the carbon price bone. Mr. Ford, unbeknownst to himself, has painted himself into a win-win situation with his favourite people, “the little man.” By saying “yeh” to carbon fee and dividend, Ford gets to stuff money into most Ontarians’ pockets, plus takes a critical step toward cooling their world. Talk about throwing a welcomed bone in these blistering hot summer days.

(Well, that’s one idea.)
